December 2000

TAC is subject of DoIIIT Dialog
Holisky leads a DoIIIT dialog on the TAC program, introducing new TAC Coordinator, Susan Warshauer.

November 2000

The TAC program creates an online infrastructure to open communication channels among TAC faculty, graduate students and instructional designers in the IT-Unit:

  • a listserv for faculty engaged in current TAC-supported projects
  • a listserv for faculty involved in TAC projects from previous years
  • a listserv for graduate students who serve as Technology Associates
  • a WebCT site, including bulletin boards, chat, and resources, for current and past TAC faculty and instructional designers
  • a WebCT site for graduate Technology Associates and instructional designers

October 2000

Jim Gilmore, Governor of Virginia, honors the TAC program with a Governor's Technology Award in the Higher Education category, presented at the Commonwealth of Virginia Information Technology Symposium on October 27. A Gazette article describes the award in more detail.

Faculty from Honors present on TAC at the National Collegiate Honors Conference.

Agee and Holisky lead a preconference seminar at Educause 2000, with Dalch and Thomas from the TekExam, on "Graduating Liberal Arts Students with Sophisticated Technology Skills."

June 2000

The TAC program is selected as a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge, an international competition that highlights the best IT projects in organizations throughout the world. A Gazette article discusses the selection in more detail.
